The Serpent's Shadow - Rick Riordan Book Review

He's b-a-a-ack! Despite their best efforts, Carter and Sadie Kane can't seem to keep Apophis, the chaos snake, down. Now Apophis is threatening to plunge the world into eternal darkness, and the Kanes are faced with the impossible task of having to destroy him once and for all. Unfortunately, the magicians of the House of Life are on the brink of civil war, the gods are divided, and the young initiates of Brooklyn House stand almost alone against the forces of chaos. The Kanes' only hope is an ancient spell that might turn the serpent's own shadow into a weapon, but the magic has been lost for a millennia. To find the answer they need, the Kanes must rely on the murderous ghost of a powerful magician who might be able to lead them to the serpent's shadow . . . or might lead them to their deaths in the depths of the underworld.
Nothing less than the mortal world is at stake when the Kane family fulfills its destiny in this thrilling conclusion to the Kane Chronicles. (From Amazon.com)
I was sad to find out that this book was the last in the Kane Chronicles; only a measly trilogy... Though after battling the biggest villain of all, smaller battles with grumpy magicians and grouchy ghosts might not interest me as much.... So I guess I shouldn't complain too much. After all books can't go on forever... *tear*
The Serpent's Shadow was a lot like the last book, a big battle with a really bad guy continued on in this book with a bigger badder battle with the same big bad guy.
Bigger, badder, battle...
Try saying that 10 times fast!
Anyways...
This trilogy has been really really fun, but I am afraid when the Sinile gods went on the defence I laughed harder and louder than I had in both of the other 2 books put together! Though I was tired and that very well might have had something to do with it... Needless to say I was humored. *Snerk* At the very least.
I guess this was a good ending for the trilogy, but it was kinda predictable. More of the same I guess.
Though one thing I've really appreciated about these books is that they don't end on a cliffhanger! Some of the chapters might but not the book itself. Speaking of the chapters, I love the chapter titles!  They are awesome!
The only thing I wasn't overly thrilled with was Sadie and her little romance with Walt and the god Anubis. Then there was Carter and Zia too. But the way it was written it didn't even come close to dominating the book. If anything it was there for humor.
Rick Riordan has definately become a new favorite author! I really really enjoyed these books!

I, too, love it when an author ends with something instead of a cliffhanger. Those are the worst!
