The Scorpio Races - Maggie Stiefvater Book Review

Some race to win. Others race to survive.
It happens at the start of every November: the Scorpio Races. Riders attempt to keep hold of their water horses long enough to make it to the finish line.
Some riders live.
Others die.
At age nineteen, Sean Kendrick is the returning champion. He is a young man of few words, and if he has any fears, he keeps them buried deep, where no one else can see them.
Puck Connolly is different. She never meant to ride in the Scorpio Races. But fate hasn't given her much of a choice. So she enters the competition - the first girl ever to do so. She is in no way prepared for what is going to happen.
As she did in her bestselling Shiver trilogy, author Maggie Stiefvater takes us to the breaking point, where both love and life meet their greatest obstacles, and only the strong of heart can survive. The Scorpio Races is an unforgettable reading experience. (From Amazon.com)

This book completely captured my imagination! Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to be so taken with  this book! I don't even know where to begin! My mind is still reeling!
I loved the story! Wonderful characters and setting! I've always been a sucker for works of fantasy, unfortunately a lot of fantasy comes with a healthy dose of  romance. But not this book! I was pleasantly surprised by it's bare minimum! Okay, I was ecstatic!
Though I was pretty disappointed by the lack of description as to what the water horses looked like, and some of their history, as well as the methods that were used on the water horses.
There also was some language and some crude and somewhat inappropriate jokes I could have lived without, but it's not a christian book so I can't expect it to read like one.
I put a hold on this book, not knowing much about it or it's author, but i have to say it was a gook investment of my time! I am still in such awe of this book I don't want to return it! There was such a mysterious air about the whole book I found it difficult to put down! This is a book I wouldn't mind owning!
