End-It Movement - One Small Youth Group's Goal

* There are more slaves today than in any other time in history.  More than 27 million people are trapped in slavery today.

Slavery didn't end with the Civil war. In fact it has grown bigger than ever.

Last year my youth group of 4 students, including myself, lead a campaign to raise loose change and awareness for an organization (International Justice Mission or IJM), that helps rescue victims from modern-day slavery and Human Trafficking.

* It's estimated that there are 200,000 people trapped in slavery in the United States, and 17,000 more will be trafficked in the next year.

We raised our loose change through International Justice Mission's (IJM) student lead campaign called Loose Change to Loosen Chains (LC2LC).

* There is an estimated 10.5 billion dollars in loose change lying around in U.S. households.
* The average price for a slave in 1809 was $40,000 now it is only $90.

Our Goal was to raise $300, but through Jesus, and only Jesus, we were able to raise over $400! This year we want to Shine a light on slavery, again.
Though this time around, with a few more students than last year, we are raising our loose change through the End-It Movement. The End-It Movement was started earlier this year in Atlanta, Georgia, by a very large group of college students at the Passion City Church's annual Passion conferences.

* 50% of all victims of slavery are children.
* 80% of all victims of slavery are women.

End-It gives to seven different organizations,
Made in a Free World - Providing businesses and consumers solutions to remove slavery from supply chains. Using the free market to free people.
Polaris Project - One of the leading organizations in the fight against modern-day slavery, they transform the way the world responds to human trafficking.
The A21 Campaign - Prevents trafficking through awareness and education, protects those who have been trafficked, and prosecutes traffickers.
International Justice Mission - Lawyers, investigators and aftercare professionals work with local officials to rescue victims, prosecute perpetrators and protect the poor.
Free the Slaves - Helping slaves break free & stay free in global trafficking hotspots, while changing systems that allow slavery to exist.
Love146 - Works to abolish child trafficking and exploitation through prevention and aftercare while contributing to a growing abolition movement.
Not For Sale - Using work on the ground and in mainstream supply chains, they target the root causes of slavery while equipping the movement for freedom.

This year our goal is to raise $400 starting May 5th and going through the first week of July.
